Afternoon Sound Alternative: The Bad Plus Live Performance

The Bad Plus is a collective made up of bassist Reid Anderson, pianist Ethan Iverson and drummer David King. While their sound is most easily described as jazz, The Bad Plus stretch far and wide with influences ranging from Stravinsky to Black Sabbath.

They'll be stopping by to chat and will be performing a few tunes in advance of their upcoming show Friday evening at The Boulder Theater.

Chalmers Johnson is the acclaimed author of Blowback and The Sorrows of Empire. He is a former analyst for the CIA and professor emeritus of the University of California San Diego.
