Vote 2002
School district wants another tax increase
Over-paid administrators say it's for computers
- - - - - - - - - - - -
by Staff (Editorial@boulderweekly.com)

YES NO

Ballot Issue 3B asks taxpayers in the Boulder Valley School District to accept an additional mill levy increase which will result in $7.5 million in revenues, to be spent on upgrading school office technology, as well as student computer labs.

While technology is perhaps the greatest need of the district, it would be irresponsible to recommend a tax increase when the district clearly isn't willing to make even ceremonial cuts in its top-heavy administrative costs.

Until school district officials redirect some of their comfort money into the schools, where it will help students, taxpayers should say no to requests for more money.
