Vote 2002
David Hustvedt (R) says he will be a voice for fiscal responsibility and efficient government if elected to the state legislature. He will pursue legislation designed to eliminate regulations that have driven up the cost of small group health insurance and support wildfire mitigation for property owners. He will also work for responsible budgeting to control state expenditures, growth control that respects the property rights of land owners, uniform concealed carry laws, and voucher programs for school choice. Howard Lambert (L), an IBM programmer and technical writer, believes in limited government, making the individual sovereign with individual responsibility and individual freedom. This includes the right of juries to reject laws they find unjust. A Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Navy, Lambert opposes the war on drugs and the prosecution of victimless crimes. He also wants the government to get out of the education business, leaving the parents the right and responsibility of educating their children in a free-market environment.
